Common questions about reunification therapy

  • Reunification therapy involves structured sessions where both the parent and child work with a therapist to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and rebuild trust. The process typically starts with individual sessions to understand each person’s perspective and concerns, followed by joint sessions that focus on addressing specific issues and strengthening the parent-child bond.

For younger children, reunification is often facilitated through play. We use techniques like filial play therapy or child-parent relationship therapy (CPRT) to create a safe and engaging environment where children can express their feelings and experiences. Through play, children can communicate more freely, allowing the therapist to guide both the child and parent toward reconnection and understanding.

  • Reunification therapy addresses a range of issues including:

Communication breakdowns: Improving the way parents and children talk and listen to each other.

Emotional healing: Working through feelings of hurt, anger, and betrayal.

Conflict resolution: Developing strategies to resolve disagreements in a healthy manner.

Trust rebuilding: Establishing trust through reliable actions and consistent behavior.

Behavioral issues: Addressing any behavioral problems that may have arisen due to the estrangement.

  • The cost for reunification therapy sessions with Orlesa Poole is $250 for the initial intake session and $225 for follow-up sessions. Sessions with Daniela Morillo cost $200 for the intake and $175 for subsequent sessions.

While we do not accept insurance directly, we are happy to submit claims on your behalf for out-of-network reimbursement. This means you can potentially recover some of the costs through your insurance provider’s out-of-network benefits.
